Amazon Yarapa River Lodge

Located on the
Yarapa River, a
tributary of the
Amazon River. The
lodge is within the
jungles of the
Amazon river basin.
The nearest city is
Iquitos, a 110-mile
boat trip away. The
lodge has been built
with local materials
and local design
ideas, for a balance
of rustic adventure
yet comfortable
quarters. Roofs and
walkways are thatch
covered, providing a
natural cooling
system from the
tropical heat. They
are dedicated to
protecting the
environment. They
have agreed with the
local tribes to set
aside a huge natural
preserve. that will
not be developed.
Also the lodge uses
earth-friendly
resources, including
full solar powering,
composting, and
flush toilets with a
waste management
system. Guests can
choose from a wide
range of activities.
Including guided
hikes, wildlife
viewing boat rides,
piranha fishing, and
paddles in a genuine
Amazon canoe. Meet
the local tribal
Indians. See the
pygmy marmoset
monkeys. Hear the
dolphins break the
water's surface for
air. Smell the
hoatzin bird. Touch
the smooth bark of a
native rubber tree.

Notes:
Children 10 years of age and younger receive a 25% discount on the per night
rate
Six or more night stays may opt for a visit and overnight stay at the
Pacaya-Samira national park reserve located 4 hours away by boat. These trips
would require a group of at least 6 people. The trip would be an additional
$100.00 per person. Smaller groups would have to be arranged at the lodge.
